    Patched Modern Quilt Blanket

    $325.00

Born from a period when Japan closed its ports to foreign goods, fabrics like cotton became extremely precious and rare. These materials were saved and repurposed from each generation to the next.

Carefully selected and imported from Japan, this product is truly one of a kind. We have not added or done any repairs to this piece. Due to the age of the fabric, it may tear easily and have holes or stains.

    Vintage Katazome Blanket

    $895.00

Boro is a utilitarian material. Born from a period when Japan closed its ports to foreign goods, fabrics like cotton became extremely precious and rare. These materials were saved and repurposed from each generation to the next.

This vintage Boro blanket is entirely hand-stitched, made of various types of fabric. The main fabric is a Katazome print, with crane in tortoise motifs. The crane and tortoise are both symbols of longevity; there is a phrase in Japanese that says "Tsuru mannen, Kame sennen", meaning "A crane a thousand years, a tortoise ten thousand." Sashiko hand embroidery runs over the patches on this blanket, reinforcing them.

Carefully selected and imported from Japan, this product is truly one of a kind. We have not added or done any repairs to this piece. Due to the age of the fabric, it may tear easily and have holes or stains.
